Visit to Freud museum
As I was unable to visit the Freud museum with the school last year, I decided to go and visit it for myself, with a deep interest in Freud and his works. I found the museum very interesting as it gave me information about the work of his family and I was able to see the place where Freud would conduct his dream analysis on patients. It was filled with his several ornaments which were all linked to his personal life and all meant something important to him, a lot of which were to represent the dreams he had himself, Freuds personal life was always the basis for his studies and theories. However, I was slightly dissapointed to find that the focus wasn't as much on the work he had done and how his theories have revolutionised and challenged the world of psychology but more was on the life he lived and who his family were. It was interesting to see the house he was brought up in and the lifestyle he had, however I was expecting more on the basis and foundations for a lot of his work. Nevertheless his museum was very inspirational and I think that all pscyhologists can only aim to have a place dedicated to their work after they've died.
